Former senator and defeated vice-presidential bet Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. is dying to go to work after losing the 2016 election, his sister, Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos, said Monday. 

"Bongbong is jobless. He is dying to work. Hindi siya masyadong sanay na walang ginagawa," she said when asked about her brother's possible appointment as interior and local government secretary.

Malacañang had previously dismissed talk that Marcos would be appointed Interior Secretary after Duterte booted out Ismael Sueno.

Marcos, however, said he is open to joining the Duterte Cabinet but said he has not spoken to the President about it.

In the interview, Imee said her brother does not want to jeopardize his protest against the victory of Vice-President Leni Robredo. 

"Yun nga tinutukan nya lang yung protest nya. Yun ang bagal bagal nga lang umusad so I think he's looking for a job, he doesn't want to jeopardize his protest, he's very serious," she said.

(He is focusing on that protest that is really slow-moving.)

She also said feels shy to discuss her brother's election protest with President Duterte.

Philvolcs Confirms Big One Earthquake Might Now Strike Anytime!

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) confirmed that ‘big one’ earthquake might now hit anytime because of the unusual actions of west valley fault.

Previously, Phivolcs declared that there is an expected ‘big one’ earthquake that could hit Metro Manila and its nearby provinces under the west valley faults. The destructive earthquake was expected to strike 3 to 4 years from now, but Phivolcs verified that the quake could strike anytime.

Two major faults or trenches in the country were now under the observation of Phivolcs. When these faults start to move, a large area of Luzon would be affected by the expected 7.2 magnitude earthquake.

Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) also explained that San Manuel Fault Line in the province where San Roque Dam was built could be possibly affected by the quake due to west valley fault movement.

The expected movement of Manila trench in the West Philippine Sea might cause a devastating tsunami in the 14 coastal towns of Pangasinan. PDRRMC spokesperson Avenix Arenas also said that Bulacan, Metro Manila up to Southern Luzon will the most quake and tsunami affected areas.

Some studies show that a 32 feet tsunami could be generated by the upcoming disastrous earthquake. Residents in the coastal areas of the affected areas should prepare anytime for the quake could possibly strike anytime.

Arenas also advised the residents of the affected areas to be well-prepared on the upcoming devastating earthquake to avoid injuries and casualties. Earthquake drills, preparations, and equipment could help the residents in the affected areas to be well prepared.

President Rodrigo Duterte bravely said on Monday that he is ready to face the possibility of being sued by the International Criminal Court or being impeached. 

Duterte indicated that he has no fear about either.

“But I will not be intimidated by [sic] ICC, impeachment,” he said.

Before he flew to Myanmar to meet more than 200 members of the Filipino community for two days, he implied that he "welcomed both developments.”

“They can do their worst, I can do better in my performance as a worker in government, period. This is a democracy,” he said.

Duterte also said that nothing can stop time if it's his time to go. 

“If that is part of my destiny, it is my destiny to go,” he added.

The president stresses that he'd rather be spending his time focusing on the fulfilling of his campaign promise against corruption, drugs and criminality.

“I will deliver on my promises, even if it would [sic] cost me my life, my honor, and the presidency. I can lose them all but I will comply with my promise,” he said. “The drive against corruption, the drive against criminality and drugs will resume and it will continue,” he added. In response to criticisms against his war on drugs, President Duterte said “it will be brutal if we do not understand the role of government.”

“Suppression includes all. Drop the shabu if you want to be alive. If you do not want trouble with government, stop trafficking. It’s as simple as that. I will not for a moment  be out of focus on that [sic],” he said.

He will be staying at the Horizon Lake View Hotel during his two-day visit.

Ever since President Duterte took office in June 2016, there have been talks of impeachment, particularly from people and certain groups who are against Duterte’s stance in the all-out war on drugs, among other things.

However, the alleged move may just be gaining traction through former junior rebel officer and now-congressman Gary Alejano of the Magdalo party-list group. 

The Magdalo is a right-wing political party that represents the retired members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and their families, as well as the urban poor and the youth of the House of Representatives.

Philippine Daily Inquirer reported that Alejano would be filing the impeachment complaint to the House of the Representatives on Thursday, March 16. It was reported that Alejano would enact the move at ten in the morning.

Last Tuesday, March 14, Alejano (also known as a member of the opposition bloc called the “Magnificent 7”) revealed that the president may be impeached for ignoring the Philippines’ sovereign rights over the Benham Rise to China, another country. 

The congressman stated that Duterte might have violated the 1987 Constitution by refusing to take China to task for its recent invasions in Benham Rise, which is an underwater land mass that was declared by United Nations as part of the Philippines’ continental shelf in 2012. 

Even though Benham Rise is not part of the country’s territory per se, the Philippines has the exclusive right to exploit and explore the natural resources found there. Other countries like China may only enjoy a right of “innocent passage” and freedom of navigation through these waters.

Alejano, who is also a former Marine captain, is closely associated with Senator Antonio Trillanes IV. He has a history with him; specifically, planning to stage a coup attempt. 

As stated by the 1987 Constitution, an impeachment may be filed by a House member or any other citizen with an endorsement of a House member. Once it is received, it should be referred to the proper committee, who will then determine if it is sufficient in form and substance. 

Alejano strongly denounced the “intrusions in our sovereign territory” by the Chinese ships that have appeared in Benham Rise. 

He cited Jay Batongbacal, who is the Director of the University of the Philippines Institute for Maritime Affairs and Law of the Sea: “The region may not be ‘territory’ in the same sense as land territory, but it is definitely ‘territory’ for the purpose of Philippine laws and regulations over natural resources.”

“The 1987 Constitution considers as legally part of the National Territory all areas over which the Philippines has sovereign or jurisdiction; Benham Rise falls squarely within the definition,” he quoted.

Students of San Fernando, La Union were allegedly possessed by bad spirits.

According to Josephine (not the real name), one of the five students possessed by bad spirits, while they were cleaning at the backyard of their school, they decided to take “selfie” and jump shots. After the activity, they felt dizzy.

Alfie Apolinar, their class adviser, said that his students experienced dizziness and stomach pain. He also witnessed how the students became stiff, as one of them was laid on the table and rubbed some salt.

The time after Josephine became conscious, she was afraid that she kept on pointing at the tree outside of their classroom because she was seeing a guy with dark skin and red eyes.

According to the folk healer who performed a ritual in the area, mythical creatures “kapre” (local term for tall, dark and muscular creature characterized as a giant tree) and “lamang-lupa” or “nuno sapunso” (the local term for an old man on the mound) who live beside the old duhat tree were disturbed.

 In addition, the students accidentally stepped the mound and killed one of them resulting to a revenge made by their queen.

The alleged possession continued at home as the video exclusively caught the act of one of the students named Emily (not the real name). Emily’s parents said that while her daughter was possessed, she kept on saying that they need to bury the cell phone they used in doing selfie.

Parents of the students offer a doll girl, candle, food and liquor as requested by the creatures.

According to Dr. Estrella Tiongson-Magno, a clinical psychologist, she thought that possession is a hysterical reaction which needs attention and admiration due to over active imagination.

The church calls the attention of people to pray continually in order to defeat the darkness to save people who are possessed. As Father Manuel Rachel said, “… the best weapon for us is prayer.”

OMG! Old Man Found Horribly Injured from Near Fatal Car Accident. Now Netizens Seek The Driver at Fault

In our everyday lives, there are times when we might encounter something gruesome or extremely terrible happening along the way to our respective offices or other destinations. We may be shocked but what’s more shocking is when these incidents happen with the one at fault getting away. 

This is the case that Facebook user Ryan F. Acorda posted yesterday, when he saw an old man sprawling by the Alabang-Zapote road. According to him, the accident happened around 5:30 in the morning of March 12, Wednesday.

Acorda said the specific place was in Pilar and that; a silver car was the one responsible for brutally hitting the old man. The right side mirror of the car was found near the old man. It was broken and shattered into pieces, indicating how hard the impact was. 

Acorda pleaded with netizens to report whoever drove the silver car to the Las Piñas Police Station so that he or she could be apprehended immediately. 

The identity of the old man is still unknown as of this writing and no other details were provided by the post on how the accident occurred yesterday. 

Lots of netizens were extremely outraged and they all commented that the old man should be brought to the hospital and the driver of the silver car should be brought to the police station. 

According to the Philippine Daily Inquirer, around 10,000 vehicles were involved in an accident in the first four months of 2016.

Senate President Aqulino “Koko” Pimentel III said that he wanted the Senate to look into the “alarming” and “disturbing” number of vehicles that have been involved in accidents.

Pimentel III aimed to file the Senate Resolution 190 which would provide stricter regulations on road safety, along with the inclusion of road courtesy and discipline in the Philippine basic education program.

Good News ► PH Government Plans to Set Up 100K Free Wifi Spots Soon

Just in: It was recently announced that the government plans on setting up 100,000 new free wi-fi hotspots around the country. 

The idea behind the project is to provide internet access to areas that currently do not have stable internet connection. 

According to a 2016 study by the United Nations Broadband Commission for Development, not even three out of every ten homes in the country have stable internet access. This means only 28.3% of homes in the country have access to the internet. 

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (or DICT) Undersecretary, Jorge Sarmiento said the following about the project:

“Sa mga park,  plaza sa mga local government unit areas, health centers, pier ang lalagyan ng free public Wi-Fi ... we are aiming to cover all municipalities in the country."

This project is in line with the National Broadband Program that was recently approved by the President.

Sarmiento also added that another priority of his department is to be able to provide free Wi-Fi connection to all the public schools in the country.

ONLINE PETITION FOR VOLUNTARY RESIGNATION OF SENATOR TRILLANES GOES VIRAL!

An online petition calling for the resignation Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV is now being circulated. 

The petition started by Michael Valderama, an OFW based in the United Kingdom, calls for the voluntary resignation of Sen. Trillanes. In his letter, he explains that the Filipinos do not want a public servant whose only aim is to oust the President. He called the senator's cause useless and that Filipinos do not require such a service. 

In his petition, Valderama reiterated that the Duterte administration is working to provide Filipinos with a brighter future and that he was elected because Filipinos wanted change in the country. He told the senator that the propaganda he is creating is tantamount to betrayal to the Philippines. He warned Trillanes that if he did not voluntary resign, the people will forcibly remove him. Valderama added that the senator is creating confusion and is dividing Filipinos. 

In his letter, Valderama wrote that if the senator continues with his acts, the people will force him out. He said that voluntary resignation is the best option for the senator.

SHOCKING ► Duterte Orders Police and Military to Use All Assets To Wage War Against NPA!

Following the ambush of four policemen in Davao del Sur, President Rodrigo Duterte ordered the police and military force to utilize all available assets in waging war against the New Philippine Army (NPA).

In a report released by Philippine Star, Duterte expressed his disappointment over the incident which cost the lives of four Bansalan Municipal Police Station officials. The policemen were supposed to investigate a murder incident in Barangay Sibayan, Bansalan on Wednesday morning when a group of suspected NPA rebels attacked them.

The president claimed that the suspected NPA rebels responsible for their death are practicing 'ideological cannibalism' which is characterized by slaying fellow Filipino people for revolution.

"It’s not an overkill actually. It’s a question of honor… We fight war and as revolutionary ideology would put it, it’s a kind of ideological cannibalism because you devour your own kind. You kill your own brothers and sisters in thy name, in the altar of revolution," Duterte said during his visit to the wake of the ambushed police officials.

Because of the incident, the president was provoked to activate the utilization of all assets the military force has.

"I will allow the police and the military this time to use all available assets…airplanes, jets, use them…rockets. Collateral damage, pasensya (sorry)," the president added.

Duterte spoke about the effects of the ambush to the peace talks between the government and the communist group. He emphasized that there is no ongoing peace talks between two parties and he will ask the full military force to engage in war with the rebels.

 "There is no peace talks for now. It’s totally absent so in the meantime, I will just ask also the armed forces and the police, just go ahead, wage a war against them, anything goes for now," Duterte said.

President Rodrigo Duterte has signed an executive order mandating all Educational Institution to prohibit teachers from giving students of all levels assignment.

The draft was finalized by the Presidential Legal Counsel on Thursday night.

According to the president, the law will give the students their well-deserved rest after spending the whole week focusing on their studies. Thus giving students more energy and willingness to study during weekdays.

"The students wake up every morning, to spend the rest of the day studying. They only have a few hours to live their life as a kid, teen, and pre-adults. We should not take these hours of freedom away from them in the form of giving take-home assignments everyday. These kids don't even have time to process the information given to them."

Teachers and Professors who will be reported for giving homeworks and assignments upon implementation are expected to face a fine of 50,000 and 1-2 years jail time.

President Duterte Approves OFW IDs Which Will Make OFW's Lives Easier! Find Out Why!

The overall process for Overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) was made even easier after the palace approved the special OFW identification cards.

According to the report of ABS-CBN, the identification card is designed to make it easier for workers abroad to make use of the government's services while they're staying in the country.

Almost a month ago, President Rodrigo Duterte finally approved the  iDOLE-OFW ID card system. However, according to Palace spokesperson Ernesto Abella, it comes with conditions. Unfortunately, Abella did not disclose further details regarding the program when the news came out.

The OFW card provides convenience as it makes transaction with government and private agencies easier. Also, cardholders will have easy access to their own records in government agencies.

The card comes with unique features as well. The card can be used as a debit card to withdraw cash from ATMs. Additionally, it also serves as a beep card for Metro Rail Transit (MRT) or Light Rail Transit (LRT) train rides.

According to Labor and Employment secretary Silvestre Bello III, the OFW IDs will be launched on March 2017.

OFWs from Milan, Italy commended the move, expressing their delight upon the approval. OFW netizens also showed their joy upon the great news.

Senator Richard Gordon accused witness SPO3 Arturo Lascañas of accepting bribe to turn his testimony against President Rodrigo Duterte during the senate hearing on Wednesday, February 22. 

Last year, Lascañas denied the existence of the so-called Davao Death Squad when questioned by the justice and human rights committee under Gordon. 

But during a Senate press conference last Monday, he retracted this statement and said Duterte ordered him to kill criminals when the latter was still mayor of Davao City.

Lascañas said that Duterte paid them P20,000 to P100,000 depending on the value of the target. He also said that Duterte ordered the bombing of mosques in 1993.

Gordon said, “Dapat nagalit si Senator Leila de Lima, nagsinungaling sa kanya yung testigo e (Senator Leila de Lima should have been mad, the witness lied to her) when he said the DDS is just media hype, that DDS does not exist, that he had nothing to do with the mosque’s bombing.”

“My Goodness, Mr. President. Now he says he bombed them? And you wanna believe this man? This man who lies frequently, who claims he is paid to murder? He is paid now to talk? Can I ask that question? No, I will not ask that question. I’m sure, I’ll say you are now paid that’s why you’re here and I don’t think you can blame me if I said that. Ako lang ho yun, huwag na yung iba (That’s my opinion, leave the others alone),” he added.

Despite Gordon's objections, Sen. Antonio Trillanes moved to have the issue referred for further investigation through the public order and dangerous drugs committee under Senator Panfilo Lacson.

A Netizen Wins Over Dishonest Taxi Driver Who Charged Them P3,600 For NAIA-Cubao Trip

Availing the comfort of riding a cab in the hot Manila weather is always a good idea, especially when you travel from and to the airport a lot. But there are also many taxi drivers who see this as an opportunity to make money from defenseless commuters. But not for this lady!

Janine Jennilyn took to Facebook her anger after experiencing such incident.

A taxi driver recently attempted to overcharge them with their fare for their trip from Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 to a bus terminal in Cubao, Quezon City.

She told netizens how they boarded a cab at NAIA, after which a caller mounted their luggage in the car’s trunk. 

They were surprised when this man also boarded the cab in the passenger’s seat, but they just didn’t mind it because the cab had already sped off. 

What shocked them was when the driver suddenly stopped in the middle of the journey to negotiate a fare that would amount to P3,600, shocking both Jennilyn and her brother. 

Fearing for their safety, Jennilyn and her brother just pretended to agree and told the driver to go on and look for an automated teller machine so they can get some cash. 

What the drivers didn’t know was that their plan was to run to the nearest police car and complain, which they did.

The cab sped off even when though all the back doors and the trunk were still open. 

This story has angered many netizens and has accumulated over 45K shares on Facebook. What also surprised her was the alarming number of emails she got telling her about their experience with the same driver but on a different cab.

OFW Sends 'Balik-Bayan Box' to Family via Makati Express Cargo - What He Discovered When His Package Arrived Made Him Angry!

A Facebook post by netizen Rey Abao Barcos has gone viral in social media.

In the somewhat lengthy post, Barcos described what he believes to be the ransacking of the ‘balik-bayan box’ he sent to his family through Makati Express Cargo.

According to Barcos, this is his first time that he sent a package to his family. He also said that he spent half a year assembling his package.

He claimed that he chose to send it via Makati Express Cargo because he believed that they offered better service than LBC.

Unfortunately, the aforementioned box arrived at his family’s house with a large hole at the side. The box itself looks beaten and worn down.

President Rodrigo Duterte has signed an executive order mandating all Educational Institution to prohibit teachers from giving students of all levels assignment.

The draft was finalized by the Presidential Legal Counsel on Thursday night.

According to the president, the law will give the students their well-deserved rest after spending the whole week focusing on their studies. Thus giving students more energy and willingness to study during weekdays.

"The students wake up every morning, to spend the rest of the day studying. They only have a few hours to live their life as a kid, teen, and pre-adults. We should not take these hours of freedom away from them in the form of giving take-home assignments everyday. These kids don't even have time to process the information given to them."

Teachers and Professors who will be reported for giving homeworks and assignments upon implementation are expected to face a fine of 50,000 and 1-2 years jail time.

Duterte Book takes Rp by STORM with DTI ASEC AMEENAH FAJARDO

The soft-launching of the book, Duterte Chronicles: The Storm from Davao, created quite a stir at the Manila Hotel recently.

 Written by Edwin Cordevilla and published by Eastern Divergence, the new book became a curiosity and the main talk at the Manila Hotel Café Ilang-Ilang with crowds queuing to get a glimpse of the copies that were not yet for sale at the time.

 The first printed copy of the book was received by the “storm” himself, President, at the  Rizal monument in Luneta who gamely posed with the new book that chronicled his ascent  from Davao to Malacañang.

 Spotted during the soft launch was former president and current Manila City Mayor Joseph  Estrada, Knights of Rizal Los Angeles Commander Sir Henry von Segfried, Department of  Trade and Industry Assistant Secretary Ameenah Fajardo, National Parks and  Development Committee Executive Director Penelope Diaz Belmonte, former party-list  Congressman Omar Fajardo and many more who received their respective complimentary  copies of course only after President Duterte got his.

 Cordevilla, known for his poetry epic Ten Thousand Lines Project for World Peace (2013) and also author of Phoenix and Other Poems (2000) and The Occasions of Air, Fire, Water, Earth (2012), and co-author of coffee-table book Marikina: Kapuri-puri Ka (2002), said he’s quite happy about the people’s reception of the book.

Its publisher is now  getting orders from all over the country, especially in Mindanao and from overseas Filipino workers from as far as the United States and Qatar. 

Businessman and philanthropist Raffy Garcia financed the book project from conception, writing to its eventual publication.

The book is not just about President Duterte, but about the Filipino people, their place in history, their aspirations and regrets in the past, the challenges they face today as the rest of the world rapidly march towards an uncertain future.

The Storm from Davao mainly uses the Duterte phenomenon as a case study to present to modern-day readers the natural and synthetic variables that have the potential to collaborate and unleash a social storm, the very political force responsible in catapulting Duterte from virtually nowhere in 2014 to Malacañang in 2016.

It is a recommended excellent read for various professionals and communicators, as well as to teachers and students of history, mass communication, political science, business, literature and philosophy.

The Storm from Davao is also an exhibition of the poetic Cordevilla, although this time, in prose.

Raffy Tulfo interviewed Congressman Edcel Lagman in 'Wanted Sa Radyo' on the issue of the use of funds for the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Conditional Cash Transfer Programs (CCT Programs). 

In the said episode of the show, Raffy Tulfo executed his own 'Oplan Tokhang' which means knocking on the conscience of people who were involved with the issue of manipulating funds through the CCT Programs and the DSWD.

Tulfo also disclosed the names of the congressmen who were involved in the issue. According to him, despite the fact that issue has already been exposed in the media, it seems like these congressmen cannot be stopped with their corruption. 

Moments after, the program was able to contact Congressman Edcel Lagman and he discussed the issue with DSWD.

However, in the midst of Tulfo and Lagman's conversation, the congressman can be heard raising his voice on the host in frustration.

Lagman even told Tulfo that the host should not believe on hearsays. Nonetheless, the host claimed that he is just stating what has already been established in newspapers.
